Box Score CANTON, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team competed in its fifth overtime contest of the season and outlasted Malone University to collect a 1-0 victory on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Black and Gold were dominant during their trip to Northeast Ohio, outshooting the hosts by a 19-4 margin.
Junior midfielder Katlyn Jamiel (Wilmington, Ohio) was the first Panther to register a shot on goal, challenging Pioneer goalkeeper Jessica Morgan to make the first of her 11 saves in the 23rd minute. Forward Ryanne Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) challenged Morgan once again in the 31st minute but the goalkeeper stood strong to collect the scoring opportunity.
Midfielder Emily Wittekind (Cincinnati, Ohio) had the best chance for the visitors when her shot rattled the woodwork in the 59th minute.
Neither team would score at the end of regulation and overtime would be needed. Malone would get just one shot off during the extra period but the Black and Gold would get the goal they needed as junior Callan Myers (Hillsboro, Ohio) collected the game-winning goal in the 108th minute to give the Panthers their seventh win of the season.
