Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn – Junior Callan Myers (Hillsboro, Ohio) extended her scoring streak to three games as Ohio Dominican women's soccer won its fifth match in a row with a 1-0 victory against Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday afternoon.
The Black and Gold started quickly as forward Bailey Sedlak (Bellbrook, Ohio) and midfielder Emily Wittekind (Cincinnati, Ohio) registered the first two shots of the contest and challenged Trevecca goalkeeper Delayna Holman early in the contest.
Sedlak continued to harass Holman as she and Katlyn Jamiel (Wilmington, Ohio) registered back-to-back shots during the 15th minute. The Black and Gold outshot Trevecca by an 8-3 margin during the first half and goalkeeper Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) wasn't challenged by the opposition as she wasn't forced to make a save during the contest.
Jamiel opened the second half with a shot that ricocheted off the crossbar. The Panthers finally broke through in the 73rd minute when Ryanne Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) slipped a pass to Myers who beat the Trojan defense and converted her scoring opportunity to give the Black and Gold a 1-0 lead.
ODU maintained its lead and didn't allow Trevecca to gain a scoring opportunity in the closing moments of the match to carry the Black and Gold to the 1-0 victory.
RECORD BROKEN
With her appearance in Saturday's win, graduate Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) becomes the all time leader in appearances in program history, overtaking alumna Cheyenne Story (Canfield, Ohio) who recently broke the same record in November 2019.
SCORING STREAKS
