Box Score OWENSBORO, Kentucky – The Ohio Dominican women's soccer extended its winning streak to four games by securing a 4-0 victory against Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday evening. The victory also marks the fourth consecutive shutout for the Black and Gold this season.
ODU outshot the Purple Panthers by the margin of 30-11, including a robust first half that saw the visitors unleash 12 shots at the host's goal. Forward Bailey Sedlak (Bellbrook, Ohio) opened the scoring in the 23rd minute as she weaved her way through a chaotic penalty box to secure the 1-0 advantage. Classmate Alex Garver (Springboro, Ohio) doubled the Black and Gold lead to 2-0 as she too converted off an opportunity that arose from a corner kick.
Fresh out of the halftime break junior Callan Myers (Hillsboro, Ohio) combined with Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) to score 30 seconds into the second half to swell the visitors lead to 3-0. With her assist, Buck has now recorded an assist or goal in three of the last four games.
Her sister Ryanne Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) found the scoresheet for the third consecutive match as she tallied her third goal of the season in the 59th minute.
Second-year goalkeepers Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) and Kaitlin Grady (Twinburg, Ohio) combined for three saves, all coming in the second half, to earn a share of the clean sheet.
The ODU defense stifled the hosts, limiting scoring opportunities and lifting the Black and Gold to a 4-0 victory.
