Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – Fresh off a 4-0 senior day victory over Lake Erie College, the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team returned to action to battle Walsh University in G-MAC play on Thursday evening inside of Panther Stadium.
ODU began the game on the front foot as Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) challenged the Walsh goalkeeper, forcing her to make a save nine minutes into the contest. Teammate Emily Wittekind (Cincinnati, Ohio) looked to follow up her strong performance from Saturday as she challenged the Walsh defense with two quick shots in the first quarter-hour.
The Black and Gold continued to press for the goal and broke through in the 34th minute. Midfielder Avery Rice (Lima, Ohio) crossed a ball in from the left side of the pitch and found the forehead of freshman Ryanne Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) who buried the ball into the back of the net to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. The goal was the first of her collegiate career.
Forward Bailey Sedlak (Bellbrook, Ohio) and midfielder Celia Scott (Beavercreek, Ohio) added two quick shots but they were turned aside by the Cavalier goalkeeper Romina Parraguez.
Walsh attempted to mount a comeback as Faith Estes challenged goalkeeper Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) in the 52nd minute but the Panther backstop stood tall to deny the scoring opportunity.
The Black and Gold added a second tally in the 76th minute as Katlyn Jamiel (Wilmington, Ohio) collected her first goal since October 2019, receiving a cross from Rice and scored with a shot off her right foot.
Walsh pushed for a goal but couldn't find the back of the net and fell 2-0.
