COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's basketball team returns home Monday with tournament positioning on the line as they welcome Walsh University to Alumni Hall. Monday's primetime matchup pits the second and thirst best teams in the conference against one another with the winner keeping pace with conference leader Cedarville University in the standings.
ODU returns home following its most successful road trip of the season, picking up three victories. The Black and Gold picked up a massive win against the University of Findlay on Thursday night and saw freshman Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) score a career-high 37 points.
That mark ties for the fifth-most points scored in G-MAC history and the most points scored since Ohio Dominican joined NCAA Division II in 2010.
Fellow Newark alum, senior Olivia Fox (Newark, Ohio), also played a key role in the Panthers road victory against Hillsdale on Saturday. The senior didn't miss a shot from the field in the second half and was a key cog for the Black and Gold as they completed an 87-80 comeback against the Chargers.
The Cavaliers come to Sunbury Road sitting in third in the G-MAC standings. It's been another tremendous season for senior Mayci Sales. She is the leading scorer for the Cavaliers with 20.2 PPG. She is the third-best scorer in the G-MAC, trailing ODU guard Angela Troyer (Sugarcreek, Ohio).
The Panthers are in search of their first win at home against Walsh since January 30, 2018 and should they be victorious on Monday night, will give head coach Lynsey Warren 100 conference wins in her career.
