FINDLAY, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's men's basketball fell to Findlay in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action Thursday evening in Croy Gymnasium by a final score of 93-73.

Senior Sam Hickey (Toledo, Ohio) led the way scoring 24 points on the night while Hasan Varence (Queens, New York) finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. Fellow senior Michael Simon (Hilliard, Ohio) was the last Panther in double-figures scoring 10 points and grabbing six rebounds. Michael Scott (Hebron, Ky.) finished with a team-high nine assists and six rebounds.

In a first half that saw five ties and four lead changes, the Panthers took a 39-35 lead into the half.

ODU opened leading 10-4 as Hickey had a pair of threes early. Seven early points from Chazz George off the Oiler bench cut the Panther lead to 16-13 with 11:09 remaining in the opening 20 minutes. Findlay would eventually tie the game at 24-24 and 32 apiece before the Panthers finished with a 7-3 run to take the lead into the half. Hickey led the way with 13 points in the half while Varence had 11 points and six rebounds.

The Panthers shot 47.1% (16-for-34) in the first half and 45.5% (5-for-11) from behind the arc with ODU holding a 22-15 advantage on the glass.

Both teams came out firing to open the second half with both teams making five of their first seven shots and saw Findlay hold a 50-49 at the 15:57 mark. Then Findlay went on a 25-4 run to open a 75-53 lead with 8:45 to go which the Panthers were not able to get within 19 the rest of the contest.

The Oilers shot a blazing 71% in the second half (22-for-31) and were 66.7% from behind the arc (8-for-12). Findlay finished shooting 58.7% for the game (37-of-63) while ODU shot 46% (29-for-63).

The Panthers will be back in action Saturday afternoon as they travel to Hillsdale with tip set for 3 p.m.
