Box Score

Written by Sports Information Intern Ralph Schudel

FINDLAY, Ohio – Ohio Dominican women's soccer dropped a tightly contested match in overtime to the Findlay Oilers on Saturday afternoon. The loss is the Panthers first since a 1-0 defeat to Cedarville on September 21st. The decision drops ODU to 6-4 (4-2) on the season.

The Panthers took the fight to Findlay early on, controlling possession and claiming a 6-2 advantage in shots in the first half. Forward Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) led ODU with a team-high three shots in the contest. The junior forward harassed the Oiler backline, linking up with several of her teammates for key attacks.

Goalkeeper Cecilia Kuntz (Berlin, Germany) turned in a solid performance making three saves to keep the Panthers within striking distance. After suffering an injury in the first half the freshman goalkeeper exited the game in the 34th minute. Junior Karissa Weekley (Zanesville, Ohio) filled in for the remaining twelve minutes of the first half and collected one save.

The Oilers and Panthers traded chances throughout the second half with neither side able to claim an advantage heading towards the end of regulation. The hosts struck in the 96th minute as Addie Graham broke free to score the goal and claim the win for the Oilers.

Ohio Dominican returns to action at Ursuline College on October 17. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. from Pepper Pike.
