Women's Soccer Continues Hot Start to GLIAC Play With 3-0 Win

FINDLAY, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team scored once in the first half, and added two insurance goals in the second period, on route to a 3-0 GLIAC win over Findlay Sunday afternoon.

The Panthers improve to 6-4-0 overall (5-1-0 GLIAC), as they have now won five of their last six matches, including victories in each of their past two matches.

The Panthers would receive a first half goal from senior Brooke Ringel (Columbus, OH), as she scored on a header off a Lauren Pratt (West Chester, OH) corner kick. ODU has now scored a total of six goals in the first 15 minutes of matches this season.

Sophomore Allison Pavlik (Cortland, OH) scored her second goal of the season, while junior Kelly Johnson (Berea, OH) logged her first goal in 2015.

Freshman Marissa Wierzbicki (Powell, OH) made three saves, recording her first collegiate shutout. The Panthers now have a total of four shutouts on the year.

ODU held a 7-3 advantage in shots during the opening 45 minutes, as they took the 1-0 lead into the intermission.

In the 53rd minute Pratt would take a free kick directed to Kethryn Mattingly (Beavercreek, OH), who one touched it to Pavlik. Pavlik then finished on a header, beating the UF keeper in the middle of the goal.

With just over 10 minutes remaining in the match, junior Emily Riviello (Huber Heights, OH) would take the ball down the left flank, crossing it into the box as Johnson would finish.

Pavlik paced ODU with three shot attempts in the match, while freshman Susan D'Isidoro (Twinsburg, OH) and junior Amanda Fodor (Hilliard, OH) each took two shots.

ODU would post seven shots on goal, while holding a 15-8 advantage in total shot attempts for the match. The Panthers also took seven corners to the Oilers' (1-7-2, 0-4-1 GLIAC) three attempts.

For the match, 22 players would make an appearance for the Black and Gold.

The Panthers will look to add to their current winning streak when they welcome Malone to Panther Stadium for a 4 p.m. kickoff on Friday, October 9.
