Box Score TIFFIN, Ohio – A goal in the 71st minute by freshman Susan D'Isidoro (Twinsburg, Ohio) proved to be the game-winner as Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team scored a 2-1 road victory at Tiffin.
It was the second game-winner of the season for D'Isidoro and her third goal in the past four games. She also knocked in the game-winner against Northern Michigan last Friday.
With the win, ODU improved to 5-4 (4-1 GLIAC), while the Dragons fell to 2-5-1 (0-4 GLIAC).
The Panthers struck first with a goal just 13 seconds into the match. Junior Kethryn Mattingly (Beavercreek, Ohio) served a long pass to sophomore Allison Pavlik (Cortland, Ohio), who took a quick shot that was saved. However, senior Lauren Pratt (West Chester, Ohio) was there for the rebound and found the back of the net to give the Panthers the early lead. It was the third goal of the year for Pratt.
Tiffin responded 15 minutes later, though, knotting the match at 1-1, which is where the score remained for the next 55 minutes.
In the second half, Courtney Kozak (Millersburg, Ohio) sent a cross to the left side of the box that found D'Isidoro. She took a few dribbles and found paydirt to give the Panthers a lead they would not relinquish as Tiffin managed just one shot in the final 19 minutes.
The Panthers had an 18-8 edge in shots and a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks. It was the first time this season ODU has not surrendered a corner kick.
Pavlik and Mattingly were each credited with four shots in the match, while freshman Marissa Wierzbicki (Powell, Ohio) picked up her first win in net as she stopped four shots.
Kozak's assist was the first point in her career.
Ohio Dominican remains on the road to take on Findlay at noon on Sunday.
