Box Score MIDLAND, Mich. -- The Ohio Dominican men's basketball team fell to GLIAC North rival Northwood on Saturday afternoon, 84-66.
The Panthers fall to 3-10 overall and 1-7 in the GLIAC with the loss. Northwood improved to 9-5 overall and 5-3 in the conference with the win.
Junior Trent Weaver (Columbus, OH) recorded his third double-double of the season as he scored a team high 21 points, grabbing a Panther best 10 rebounds.
Junior Chad Nelson (Columbus, OH) scored eight points while coming up with four rebounds. Nelson also dished out a team high five assists.
Freshman Shemar Waugh (Columbus, OH) came off the bench to add 12 points to the Panther offense. Waugh made both three point shots he attempted.
The Black and Gold has 16 assists on 26 made field goals. This was the fifth consecutive game that the Panthers have assisted on at least 15 field goals.
ODU jumped out to their largest lead of the game after a Mike DeLeon (Powell, OH) layup gave the Panthers a 14-8 lead with just over 12 minutes to play in the opening half.
The contest stayed tight for the remainder of the first half, but a 5-0 run by the Timberwolves gave them a 27-32 lead at the break.
Northwood would take a 12 point lead with just under 11 minutes left to play in the game. The Timberwolves would continue to extend their lead throughout the second half.
ODU finished the contest on a 10-2 run but it was not enough as they fell 84-66.
The Panthers will return home for a contest against Findlay at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 15.
