Box Score ALLENDALE, Mich. – Four players scored in double figures but Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team fell 66-51 at No. 17 Grand Valley State Tuesday night in GLIAC play.
With the loss, ODU fell 3-6 (1-3 GLIAC), while the Lakers improved to 7-0 (4-0 GLIAC).
Senior Kacee Hockenberry (Haviland, Ohio) and sophomore Tori Beth Leader (West Portsmouth, Ohio) both had 13 points. Sophomore Madi Rittinger (Dayton, Ohio) added 11 and junior Melissa Scherpenberg (Cincinnati, Ohio) had 10 points and 11 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the year.
The Panthers, though, shot just 29.7 percent (19-of-64) from the floor and could not recover from a 36-19 halftime deficit.
ODU made a late run as the Panthers cut the deficit to 53-45 with 5:11 left and had possession of the basketball, but the Lakers scored the next five points and led by double figures the rest of the way.
GVSU shot 14-of-28 from the field in the first half and made 23-of-50 (46.0 percent) from the field in the game.
The Panthers play at home at 1 p.m. Sunday against Missouri-St. Louis in Alumni Hall.
