Box Score

CANTON, Ohio -- The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team scored four times as they defeated Malone on the road 4-2.

The Panthers (10-3-1, 7-1-1) have now won five consecutive matches. This is the second time this season in which ODU has won five straight matches. With the loss, Malone falls to 2-11-0 overall and 1-9-0 in the conference.

The Black and Gold are now just 1.5 games out of first place in the GLIAC and one game away from Michigan Tech for second place.

The Panthers received goals from four different players. Freshman Ashley Blake (Hilliard, OH) added to her team high in goals, and now has five on the season. Senior Jordan Mazzi (Galena, OH) has now scored in two straight matches and has three goals in her last five matches. Junior Lauren Pratt (West Chester, OH) added her third goal of the season and her second assist. Junior Summer Bourcier (Mansfield, OH) logged her first goal of the season.

ODU struck early, as Blake was able to score off a pass from Pratt at the 2:32 mark. In the remainder of the first half neither team was able to find the back of the net, as the Panthers took a 1-0 lead into the break.

In the second half, ODU got off to a fast start again scoring twice in the first ten minutes of the second session. Mazzi scored her fourth goal of the season off a pass from sophomore Amanda Fodor (Hilliard, OH) in the 48th minute. At 54:32 Pratt scored on a crossover pass from sophomore Madison Baldwin (Zanesville, OH).

After the Pioneers added a penalty kick goal, the Panthers put the game out of reach with a goal from Bourcier off a pass from sophomore Kethryn Mattingly (Beavercreek, OH).

The four goals for ODU marked the highest total in both goals and total points, 12, on the season. For the match, the Panthers had 26 shots with 15 coming on goal. Mazzi and Blake each had four shots to lead the Panthers.

Freshman goalkeeper Kelsey Harris (Mason, OH) recorded her ninth win of the season and is now one shy of tying for fourth all-time in a single season at ODU. Harris played the first 38 minutes before junior Felicia Cuthbert (Marysville, OH) finished the match.

ODU will be back in action at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 24. The Panthers will welcome Walsh to Panther Stadium for Senior Night.
