Leading by eight early in the second half, Ohio Dominican allowed Ursuline to get back in the ballgame as the Arrows scored nine straight points to go in front 42-41 with 12:53 to play.
Free throws by Torey and Hockenberry put the Panthers back in front at 43-42, and junior guard Mykeila Mast (Millersburg, Ohio) hit a jumper to make it 45-42. After an Ursuline bucket at the 9:30 mark, Torey answered with a layup, and a jumper by Hockenberry and two free throws by Hallenbeck extended the ODU lead to 51-44 with 4:48 left.
Ursuline snapped a five-minute scoreless drought with a three-pointer on the next possession, but the Panthers pulled away down the stretch. Stuckey finished inside on a feed from Hallenbeck, and Hallenbeck would make a free throw to put ODU back in front by seven, 54-47, with less than two minutes to play.
The Arrows came back with a jumper with 1:45 left to make it 54-49, but Stuckey answered with another layup and Ursuline made just one free throw while missing a pair of shots down the stretch as ODU came away with the victory.
The Panther defense limited Ursuline to just six points in the final 9:30 of the game, including just two field goal makes.
ODU built a pair of six-point leads early in the game but had to fight back to regain the lead at half. Up 14-8 after Mast's layup, the Panthers yielded a 10-2 run to the Arrows to trail 18-16 with 9:35 in the half. ODU recovered with a burst of its own, with Stuckey's layup giving the visitors a 24-20 advantage, but Ursuline scored the next eight points to take its biggest lead with 5:13 left.
The Panthers battled back to tie it on a Torey layup, and Hockenberry drilled a triple moments before halftime to send ODU into the locker room with a 33-30 lead.
Ohio Dominican closes the regular season with a 3 p.m. GLIAC contest against Tiffin from Alumni Hall on Saturday.
