COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's women's tennis team sent senior Mari Monaco (Port Clinton, Ohio) out a winner as the Panthers scored a 9-0 victory over Central State on ODU's Senior Day.

The Panthers closed the 2011-12 campaign with an 8-14 overall record. In the fall, ODU finished 6-6 in the GLIAC.

Monaco teamed with freshman Anita Girizd (Ada, Serbia) at No. 2 doubles for an 8-2 victory, and Monaco also tallied a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles.

"Mari has invested a lot of time and effort into the progression of the women's tennis program at ODU," assistant coach Kate Rodgers said. "Her dedication, energy and enthusiasm will be missed but not forgotten."

The Panthers did not relinquish a game at No. 1 doubles or any of the five singles spots. Sophomore Sofia Espana-Perez (Mexico City, Mexico) and junior Aline Mariano (Sao Paulo, Brazil) won their top doubles match, with Mariano also notching a win at No. 1 singles.

Junior Krista Derry (Baltimore, Ohio) earned a win at second singles, junior Hanna Ukhal (Uzhgorod, Ukraine) took a win at No. 3 singles and junior April Zaborsky (Dublin, Ohio) took a win at fourth singles.
