The Ohio Dominican women's tennis team completed a weekend sweep, winning all three of their GLIAC matches, finishing off Sunday with a 9-0 win over Lake Erie College.
Doubles set the tone for the Panthers on Sunday as they took 3-of-3 courts in convincing fashion. Aline Mariano (Sr./Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Samanta Zambrano (Fr./Monterrey, Mexico) won on court one, 8-0; while Krista Derry (Sr./Baltimore, OH) and fellow senior Hanna Ukhal (Uzhgorod, Ukraine) won easily on court three, 8-0. At #2 doubles, Anita Girizd (So./Ada, Serbia) and Carla Leggett (Fr./Madrid, Spain) jumped out to a 4-1 lead, eventually winning 8-2.
In singles play, ODU continued to apply pressure, winning all six courts to secure the 9-0 conference win. Earning points were Zambrano and Girizd on courts one and two, along with Leggett and Mariano on courts three and four. Derry and April Zaborsky (Sr./Dublin, OH) completed the sweep for the Panthers, each winning 6-0, 6-0.
ODU returns to action on Friday, October 12th as they travel to Big Rapids, Michigan for another GLIAC match against Ferris State University. The match is set to begin at 3 p.m.
