Box Score UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – After waiting an extra day, the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team lost a tough 2-1 overtime battle to Saginaw Valley in the GLIAC Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
The Cardinals (10-3-4) opened up the scoring at the 19:40 mark when Annie Aubrey beat two defenders to get a free shot on goal and sent the ball past ODU's keeper sophomore Laura Clark (Lapeer, Mich.).
Not to be deterred, the Panthers (10-6-3) responded in the 27th minute when sophomore Jordan Mazzi (Galena, Ohio) connected on a pass from freshman Lauren Pratt (West Chester, Ohio) to knot the score at 1-1.
In the 95th minute, SVSU's Kelsey Burt gave the Cardinals the win as she put away the game winner from Aubrey from the 10 yard line.
ODU held a slight edge in shots, outshooting the Cardinals 16-15 that included 11 shots on goal.
Clark collected five saves in goal.
