  • Third head coach for ODU in its NCAA Division II era, which began in 2010-11, and is the seventh person all-time to lead the Panther women
  • Balcomb spent the 2021-22 season as an assistant for the Panthers and has 23 years of head coaching experience, including 21 at the NCAA Division I level.

BEFORE OHIO DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY
  • The New Jersey native most notably spent 14 seasons as the head coach of the Vanderbilt women's basketball program, compiling a 310-149 overall record with the Commodores, the most wins in school history.
    • Vanderbilt made 12 NCAA Tournament appearances during Balcomb's time at the helm, including four Sweet Sixteen appearances.
  • Balcomb has also served as head coach at Xavier for seven seasons.
    • They were two-time A10 Champions and made three NCAA Tournament appearances.
    • She was the 2000-01 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year, guiding the Musketeers to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight.
    • For her efforts, Balcomb was a finalist for the Naismith and ESPN National Coach of the Year.
  • Before heading to Xavier, she coached two years at now Great Midwest Athletic Conference institution, Ashland.
  •  Overall, Balcomb has a 479-274 career coaching record. 
  • Additionally, Balcomb has served on Division I coaching staffs at South Carolina, Texas Tech and Purdue.
    • With the Gamecocks, Balcomb was the director of offensive analytics. In her lone year with the Gamecocks, Balcomb assisted USC to a 33-4 overall record and the program's first National Championship.
  • Balcomb played college basketball at Trenton State (now the College of New Jersey), graduating in 1984 with a Bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education.
    • She scored 1,099 career points, ranking in the top 15 of program records.
    • She sits fourth all-time in assists (340) as well.
    • Balcomb returned for a Master's degree in Education, specializing in Sports Administration and Athletic Management in 1985.
    • She is a 2015 inductee to the Athletic Hall of Fame.
