COLUMBUS, Ohio – To open conference play, the Ohio Dominican Panthers (7-2, 1-0 G-MAC) took on a familiar foe in the Northwood Timberwolves (2-6, 0-1 G-MAC) on Friday (Sept. 11) evening at Alumni Hall.

- Set 1: ODU 27-25
- The first set featured 16 ties and seven lead changes. Northwood led 5-2 before ODU scored four straight points for a 6-5 lead on two kills by Ava Horn and a combined block by Horn and Annie Fincham. The lead was exchanged a few times with ODU leading 11-9. Northwood scored four points in a row, forcing an ODU timeout trailing 13-11. Two Lauren Dinunzi aces helped ODU go on an 8-3 run as they regained an 19-16 lead. The Timberwolves chipped away and tied the match three different times before ODU had their first try at set point, 24-22. Northwood rallied to tie the set at 24 and 25 all, forcing extra points. Fincham ended the marathon set with back-to-back kills as ODU won 27-25.
- Set 2: ODU 25-15
- All five ties for the second set occurred in the first 12 points as they was only one lead of more than a point (Northwood 6-4). After the set was tied 6-6, Ohio Dominican ended the set with outscoring Northwood 19-9 to win 25-15.
- Set 3: ODU 25-15
- ODU led 2-0 before the Timbies tied the set 2-2. Two Timberwolves errors gave the Panthers the lead for good. With an 8-7 lead, three straight points forced Northwood to call timeout as they trailed 11-7. Ohio Dominican scored five of the next eight points as Northwood called another timeout, down 16-10. The Panthers finished the set and won the match with a 9-5 run.
