NASHVILLE, Tenn. – In a matchup against a former G-MAC foe, the Ohio Dominican Panthers (2-1) volleyball team closed out the Ray Thrasher Classic against the Trevecca Nazarene Trojans (0-2) on Saturday (August 29).

Ohio Dominican swept the Trojans 3-0 to end the weekend with a pair of wins.

W, 3-0 vs. Trevecca Nazarene

• Set 1: ODU 25-20
  • The match started with five ties and five lead changes in the first 14 points. ODU was able to lead 10-7 and 11-8 but the set would be tied five more times. With the set tied 16-16, the Panthers outscored the Trojans 9-5 to close the set.
• Set 2: ODU 25-21
  • Just like set one, there were a bunch of ties – eight of them before either team could have a multi-point lead. Two straight aces by Tess Hayes gave ODU an 10-8 lead, the first multi-point lead of the set as TNU called time. Trevecca got the set back tied at 11-11 but Keegan O'Keefe capped a 5-1 run with an ace. After a Trojans timeout, TNU got three straight points before ODU called their first timeout, leading 16-15. ODU had two leads of three points before Trevecca tied the set at 21. Four straight points for the Panthers after a timeout gave the Panthers a 25-21 win.
• Set 3: ODU 25-21
  • ODU started off strong with a 6-1 lead but the Trojans answered with their own run of 6-1 to tie the set at seven. A Natalie Jones kill regained the lead for the Panthers until the set was tied at 12 all. Chloe Gels gave ODU a 13-12 lead that they would not relinquish. The Panthers led by as many as five points five different times. Trevecca made a push with three straight points, as ODU called a timeout. Three attack errors for the Trojans sealed the sweep for the Panthers 25-20.

For the first time, the Ohio Dominican Panthers will play host to a home tournament – the Ohio Dominican Volleyball Classic next weekend on Friday (Sept. 4) and Saturday (Sept. 5).
