PEPPER PIKE, OH - Coming back from Melbourne, Florida, the Ohio Dominican softball team turned its focus to conference play and opened G-MAC action with a doubleheader in Pepper Pike against the Ursuline Arrows (8–12). The Panthers swept both games, winning 2–0 in eight innings and 7–2 in the second.
Game One (W, 2-0, extra innings (8)
In game one,
Alyvia Lawrentz made her conference debut in the circle and delivered a complete eight-inning shutout. The freshman allowed just three hits while striking out six over 125 pitches.
Offensively, ODU recorded seven hits and broke a scoreless tie in the eighth. Erica Massey led off with a single, followed by Kendrick Sterling driving in the first run with a double to right. Olivia Congleton added another RBI with a double to left to make it 2–0. Ursuline threatened in the bottom half, but the Panthers held on.
Game Two (W, 7-2)
In game two, ODU secured its 10th win of the season with a 7–2 result. Emma Grau earned her sixth win, pitching a complete game with seven hits allowed, two runs, and two strikeouts.
The Panthers capitalized early with a four-run second inning. Saadie Maysonet reached on a fielder's choice to bring in a run, then Lilah Flores delivered a two-run double to center. Reese Loveday later drew a bases-loaded walk to extend the lead.
ODU added another run in the fifth when Gianna Solinger singled as a pinch hitter, scoring Halina Schulte. In the sixth, Lilly Irvine singled to right, bringing home two more runs. Ursuline scored once in the fifth on a sacrifice fly and added a solo home run in the sixth, but ODU closed it out after a scoreless seventh.
