COLUMBUS, Ohio – Coming off three straight wins, the Ohio Dominican Panthers (13-13, 8-10) stretched their win streak to four in today's (Feb. 21) 81-69 win over the Hillsdale Chargers (14-10, 10-8) in their final home game of the season.

The scoring for the Panthers was spread out, as five players reached double figures, including 16 points on 6-of-9 (66.7%) shooting from Mackenzie Hurd, leading the team. Jenna Shackleford shot a perfect 5-of-5 from the field and 2-of-2 from beyond the arc. Jazmyn Wheeler, Meghan Mayotte and Macy Chapman were also in double-figures with 11, and ten points, respectively. Collectively, the Panthers shot 28-of-55 (50.9%) from the field compared to 24-60 (40.0%) from the Chargers. Ohio Dominican won the rebounding battle 33-31, adding on to a physical game, with 36 total fouls among the two sides (17 for ODU, 19 for Hillsdale). Mayotte and Wheeler were tied for the team-high in rebounds at eight.
How It Happened
In the first quarter, both Ohio Dominican and Hillsdale could not be separated as they both traded baskets en route to a 16-15 ODU lead at the end of the quarter.
The Panthers came out on fire in the second quarter, establishing a 32-20 lead by the 6:05 mark with great three-point shooting. They continued to apply pressure by not allowing the Chargers to build any momentum, ending the half strong with a 41-30 lead.
Hillsdale would attempt to close the gap by scoring seven straight points, but the Panthers remain strong by going on a 11 to two scoring run, stretching the lead to 17 points at the 4:17 mark, the largest of the game.
By the fourth quarter, Ohio Dominican kept control of the game, dominating in the paint and making free throws, leading to the final score, 81-69.
