Panthers Travel to Pepper Pike, Securing Conference Win Against Arrows, 66-60

PEPPER PIKE, OH - Coming off a tough battle against Ashland last week, the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team (6-7) traveled to Pepper Pike to face the Ursuline Arrows (3-11). The Panthers pounced early and stayed resilient, securing a 66-60 conference win on the road.

The veteran guard Sarah Ochs led the way with a team-high 17 points, adding four rebounds, three steals and two assists while shooting 6-15 from the field and 3-9 from the arc. Mackenzie Hurd also delivered a dominant performance, recording a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in 29 minutes of action. Providing a massive spark off the bench, Jazmyn Wheeler notched 12 points in just 18 minutes on an efficient 6-8 shooting, while Jenna Shackleford anchored the paint with seven points and seven rebounds.

Game Breakdown
The contest opened at a steady pace, with Ohio Dominican utilizing fast-break pressure to hold a slim 14-13 lead after the first quarter. However, the momentum shifted in the second as Ursuline ignited a 7-0 run. While the Panthers' shooting cooled to 26%, the Arrows surged, shooting 60% from the floor. ODU managed to bridge the gap in the final 30 seconds of the half, scoring four quick points to trail 29-25 heading into the locker room.

The second half belonged to the Black and Gold. ODU emerged after halftime, reclaiming the lead and eventually stretching it to a 14-point advantage on 47.6% shooting in the third quarter. Although Ursuline fought back in the final frame to cut the deficit to seven, the Panthers' steady 46.7% shooting down the stretch iced the game, securing their first G-MAC win of the season.
