ASHLAND, Ohio  – The Ohio Dominican Panthers indoor track and field team continued the 2025-26 season beating the cold air outside with a trip to Ashland for the Ashland Invitational on Saturday (Jan. 24) afternoon.

Nine personal bests were reached as three Panthers found themselves in the top three spots in competition. 

1st Place Finishes

• Virtner Crews III: 6.93 second time in finals after a 6.92 second prelims time (2nd fastest overall)
• Peyton Proffitt: 3.73 meter mark in the pole vault (tied for 2nd all-time)

2nd Place Finish

• Merrick Shorter: 4:19.45 in the mile (6th fastest all-time)

6^th Place Finish

• Eayuel Gebrtsadik: 8:37.81 for the 3000 meters (5th fastest in program history)

Other Finishes

• Kiera Archer: 13th overall in the 400 meters with a 1:00.46 PR; 26.63 PR in the 200 meters (17th place); 27th in the 60 meter prelims with a 8.23 second time
• Ismael Obas: 15th place in the 60 meter prelims at 7.20 seconds; 24th place in the 200 meters with a 23.15 second time; 25th in the long jump - topping out at 5.77 meters
• Matthew Thomas: 7.22 second time for the 60 meters prelims (18th fastest); best mark of 5.50 meters in long jump in 30th place; 23.42 PR in the 200 meters for 31st overall
• Yagouba Barry: 20th overall in 400 meters, running a PR of 52.04 seconds; 26th place in the 200 meters on a 23.19 second PR time
• Felix Prewitt: 30th place for 60 meters prelims, running a 7.34 second time; tied season-best in 200 meters at 24.04 seconds (50th place)
• Abdou Jarju: PR in long jump of 5.04 meters (33rd place); 7.56 seconds in the 60 meter prelims (43rd place); 24.20 seconds in 200 meters in 53rd place
• Anna Blackstone: 11:56.46 PR time in the 3000 meters for 35th place
• Giovanni Louprasong: PR of 55.25 in 400 meters for 36th place
• Jon Chaney: PR in the shot put of 11.12 meters in 37th place
• Shyla Pemberton: 38th place in the 60 meter prelims at 8.47 seconds
• Brandon Ammons: 39th place in weight throw with best throw of 9.92 meters
• Aileen Castillo: 40th overall in the 3000 meters at a PR of 12:31.68
• Alyza Camp: 13:28.59 time for the 3000 meters in 43rd place

The team will return to Ashland in two weeks for the Jud Logan Light Giver Open on Feb. 6th and 7th.
