COLUMBUS, OH - This afternoon, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team faced off against new GILAC member Roosevelt University in their second match of the season. Roosevelt, projected to finish second in the preseason polls, proved a strong opponent. Thanks to a late penalty goal by sophomore

The match was evenly contested, with both teams putting up similar stats. Roosevelt recorded 12 total shots, including 7 on goal, while Ohio Dominican managed 11 shots, 9 of which were on target. In goal, Joseph Deitering made six saves, conceding only a penalty kick. Corner kicks were nearly identical as well, with Roosevelt attempting six and ODU five.
The physicality of the game was notable, with a combined 23 fouls and seven yellow cards issued between the two teams.
Both goals came from penalty kicks. Roosevelt struck first in the 52nd minute, with Noah Vasilev converting from the spot shortly after the second half began. Just four minutes before the final whistle, Aiden Crowley was fouled in the box following a corner kick, and calmly converted the resulting penalty to level the score and secure the Panthers' first tie of the season.
