Ohio Dominican Sweeps Northwood to Close Out Michigan Weekend

MIDLAND, MI - The Ohio Dominican Panthers wrapped up their weekend in Michigan with a dominant 3-0 sweep over the Northwood Timberwolves on Saturday, earning their second conference win of the season. The victory comes on the heels of Friday's 3-1 win over the Hillsdale Chargers.

Staying hot, the Panthers handled the Timberwolves convincingly on their home court at Riepma Arena. This marks ODU's sixth win of the season as they prepare to return home for their first match inside Alumni Hall, set for Tuesday against Fairmont State.

ODU won in commanding fashion, taking the sets 25-16, 25-17, and 25-18.

Leading the way was Jenna Peters, who recorded 12 kills and seven digs. Freshman Logan Rubel added 10 kills, while Ashley Aselage contributed eight kills and three key blocks.

On defense, Christen Tarter anchored the back row with 14 digs. Setter Saige Avery tallied 27 assists and added two aces. Gabrielle Kirker also chipped in with two aces and 17 assists in her role as setter.

How It Happened
The Panthers set the tone early in the match, jumping out to a quick lead and taking control with a four-point run to make it 15-11. A decisive seven-point rally late in the set sealed it, 25-16.

In the second set, ODU carried their momentum with a hot 5-0 start. Northwood stayed within reach at 12-9, but the Panthers quickly pulled away, extending the lead to 18-12 before closing the set 25-17.

The third and final set followed a similar script. ODU opened with a 6-1 lead behind strong attacks from Brynn Clark and Jenna Peters. Although Northwood attempted to rally, the Panthers maintained control and secured their first conference sweep of the season with a 25-18 finish.
