Men's Soccer Gains First Road and Conference Win at Walsh, 3-1

NORTH CANTON, OH - The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team traveled to North Canton for their first road and conference game of the season, earning a 3-1 victory over Walsh at Larry Staudt Field. The win marked the Panthers' first regular-season and conference triumph of the year.

ODU opened the scoring just five minutes into the match, as senior midfielder Blaivon James netted his first goal of the season. Walsh quickly responded just 51 seconds into the second half with a goal from Gabe Anderson to level the match.

The Panthers regained the lead in the 66th minute when senior Brad Leonard fired home the go-ahead goal with a header, thanks to a free kick. ODU sealed the win 18 minutes later with a goal from Evan Reppeto, assisted by forward Kaiden Koch.

Despite the win, Walsh outshot the Panthers 15-8, including 10 shots on goal compared to ODU's three. Goalkeeper Joseph Deitering was a standout performer for the Panthers, making nine saves—three in the first half and six in the second—while allowing just one goal, including two crucial stops on Walsh's penalty kicks.

Corner kicks were limited, with Walsh taking three and ODU none. The match was physical throughout, featuring seven yellow cards—four for Walsh and three for Ohio Dominican—along with 11 fouls by the Cavaliers and nine by the Panthers.
