COLUMBUS, OH - The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team took on No. 21 Lee University on Saturday afternoon at Panther Stadium, falling 4-0 after two hard-fought halves.
The Black and Gold struggled to generate offensive momentum against a strong Flames squad. Lee outshot the Panthers 22-7, including a 10-2 edge in shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper Joseph Deitering made six saves in the effort.
Lee also held the advantage in corner kicks, earning eight compared to ODU's two. The match featured physical play from both sides, with the Flames committing 10 fouls and receiving two yellow cards, while the Panthers recorded seven fouls and one yellow card.
The Flames opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a goal from Daniel Garvilla, assisted by Nicolas Napoli. Shortly after halftime, Lee extended their lead with back-to-back goals—first by Napoli in the 50th minute, followed by Jesse Thompson just two minutes later, with another assist from Napoli.
Lee sealed the win in the 74th minute when Farid Chouyouti found the back of the net with a right-footed strike.
