LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Ohio Dominican volleyball program received academic recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) as announced last Monday (July 21).

The AVCA Team Academic Award, sponsored once again by INTENT, honors volleyball programs that maintain a yearlong grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.00 scale.

The Panther volleyball program has achieved this honor for the last 17 years, including all 15 years within the NCAA Division II era (since 2011). The Panthers were awarded the team award in 2009 and 2010 when the Panthers were with the NAIA. They are tied for the eighth longest Division II streak of awards. 

Overall, a record 1,458 collegiate and high school volleyball teams were awarded the AVCA Team Academic Award. 158 Division II teams were named in the list, including eight schools that compete in the G-MAC.
