HARROGATE, TN -Â The Ohio Dominican softball team wrapped up their weekend in Harrogate, Tennessee, taking on the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters in a Sunday doubleheader. The Panthers split the day's games, dropping the opener 2-0 before bouncing back with a dominant 13-5 win in game two.Â
Game 1 RecapÂ
Offense was hard to come by for the Panthers in the first game, as they relied on strong defense and pitching to stay competitive. Lincoln Memorial broke through in the second inning when Reese Vivrette drew a bases-loaded walk, allowing Brianna Baer to cross the plate for a 1-0 lead.Â
The Railsplitters added their final run in the fifth with a Kristen Griffin RBI double to center, scoring Vivrette for a 2-0 advantage.Â
Key contributors for Ohio Dominican included Kaleigh Golden, Erica Massey (two hits), Lilly Irvine, and Emma Grau, each collecting a hit. Despite the loss, Grau delivered a solid performance on the mound, allowing just four hits and two runs (with two errors) across six innings.Â
Game 2 RecapÂ
The Panthers' offense came alive in game two, racking up 16 hits, 10 RBIs, and 13 runs.Â
Ohio Dominican wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. Kendrick Sterling's RBI bunt single allowed Kaleigh Golden to score on an unearned run, followed by a wild pitch that brought Erica Massey home for a quick 2-0 lead. Gina Wilson capped off the inning with an RBI groundout, scoring Sterling. LMU responded in their half of the first with an RBI single from Nicole Couvertiere, making it 3-1.Â
Both teams kept the scoring going in the second. ODU extended its lead when Golden's RBI single plated Emily Holland, and Golden later scored on a throwing error. LMU answered with an RBI single from Anna Reichter, cutting the deficit to 5-2.Â
The Panthers continued to add runs throughout the game. Emily Holland's RBI double in the third made it 6-2, and Kaleigh Golden's clutch RBI single in the fourth extended the lead to 7-2. By the fifth, ODU had built a comfortable 9-2 advantage.Â
Lincoln Memorial attempted a rally in the bottom of the fifth, scoring three runs off a pair of RBI doubles to narrow the gap to 9-5. However, Ohio Dominican secured insurance runs in the sixth and seventh innings. Sterling delivered a two-run double to left in the sixth, scoring Massey and Golden. In the seventh, she came through again with a two-run single, plating Massey and Leea Ibarra to seal the 13-5 victory.Â
Sterling had a standout performance, driving in five runs on three hits while scoring once. Golden contributed three runs, three hits, and two RBIs, while Holland tallied three hits, two RBIs, and a run. Massey also had a strong game, finishing with three runs, three hits, and two RBIs.Â
Marlee Jacobs earned her first win of the season, pitching four innings while allowing seven hits and five runs. Freshman Amelia Spidell closed out the game with three scoreless innings, surrendering just one hit and no errors.Â

Now sitting at 3-5, the Panthers look ahead to a big weekend in Columbus, where they will take on Ferris State (Friday), Seton Hill (Saturday), and Charleston (Sunday) in a series of doubleheaders.Â
