DELAWARE, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers indoor track and field team sent a pair of student-athletes in the Ohio Wesleyan Open at the Gordon Field House on Friday (Feb. 14) night.
Both athletes took first place in their respective events in the meet, scoring points for the Panthers.
Peyton Proffitt won the pole vault for the women, earning seven points with a best mark of 3.56 meters. Proffitt's mark was the fifth best vault for the program, over five inches higher than second place. With seven points, the Panthers were fifth of sixth teams.
Aboubacar Soumahoro ended the men's high jump in first place, topping out at 1.75 meters. He also scored seven points, putting ODU in fourth place of five teams overall.
Ohio Dominican will have their final preparations for the Great Midwest Championships in two weeks with the Ashland Last Chance Meet next Saturday (Feb. 22).
