CEDARVILLE, OH - Returning to conference play after a week off, the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team traveled to face the Cedarville Yellow Jackets at the Callan Athletic Center. After a hard-fought contest that went down to the wire, the Panthers ultimately fell to the Yellow Jackets, 68-65.

Three Panthers scored in double digits, led by Sarah Ochs, who contributed 15 points, six assists, and six rebounds while shooting perfect from the free-throw line in a team-high 34 minutes.
Forward Jenna Shackleford followed closely with 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field, adding two rebounds. Senior Macy Chapman posted 11 points, including six rebounds and four assists, going 5-of-8 from the field in 32 minutes.
Off the bench, both Jazmyn Wheeler and Eve Schwemley contributed eight points each, helping the bench unit combine for 21 total points. Overall, the Panthers scored 28 points in the paint and converted 17 points off of Cedarville's turnovers.
Game Breakdown
The game was a back-and-forth affair, featuring six ties and five lead changes. Ohio Dominican opened the first quarter strong, shooting 41.67% from the field (5-of-12) and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc to take an early 13-12 advantage.
The Panthers maintained their edge in the second quarter, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 19-18. With improved shooting—53.85% from the field and 80% at the free-throw line—ODU carried a slim 32-30 lead into halftime.
The third quarter proved pivotal. Cedarville closed the frame on a massive 16-0 run, seizing the lead as the Panthers cooled off to 45.45% shooting from the field.
Despite trailing 65-44 with six minutes left in the fourth, the Panthers mounted an inspired comeback. They managed to cut the lead to 68-62 with 1:37 remaining, and a late three-pointer from Gracie Cosgrove made it a one-possession game at 68-65. However, the Panthers were unable to complete the rally before the final buzzer.
