Men's Basketball Gets Roosevelt Revenge in Home Opener

COLUMBUS, Ohio - After a neutral site crossover, the Ohio Dominican Panthers (1-2) men's basketball team returned to the friendly confines of Alumni Hall for the first of four straight home games.

Ohio Dominican was able to avenge a 67-57 loss last season, defeating the Roosevelt Lakers (0-3) with a 68-52 final score on Saturday (Nov. 22) in the home opener.

  • The rebounding battle was all ODU 47-37, including 14-9 in offensive rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Roosevelt got the lead to eight points (27-19) with a 10-2 run before holding another eight point lead (29-21) with 6:40 to go. Five straight ODU points slimmed the lead to 29-26 but a three pointer got the Lakers advantage up to 36-28 with 2:56 left.
  • Ohio Dominican ended the half on an 11-0 run, taking an 39-36 lead into halftime.
  • Broughton started the second half with a three pointer as the run expanded to 14-0 over a span of nearly six minutes. Two free throws by Roosevelt closed the Panther lead to 42-38 and that was the closest the Lakers got for the second half.
