Two Panthers Earn Double-Doubles as Volleyball Tops Central State, 3-1

WILBERFORCE, OH - Starting off their week, the (18-5) Ohio Dominican volleyball team traveled to Wilberforce, Ohio, to take on the (11-11) Central State Marauders — returning home with a 3–1 victory.

Ohio Dominican's attack was led by senior Jenna Peters, who recorded 13 kills, 12 digs, and one block for a double-double performance. Ashley Aselage followed with 10 kills and three big blocks, while Grace Zinchuk led the blocking effort with four. Freshman Logan Rubel added nine kills, and setter Saige Avery notched her own double-double with 23 assists (team leader) and 10 digs, also leading the squad with three aces from the service line.

SET BREAKDOWN
The Marauders challenged the Panthers early, holding a 13–11 lead midway through the first set and later going up 22–19. But ODU stormed back with five straight points to take a 24–22 lead, then closed out the set shortly after. Central State carried that momentum into the second set, jumping ahead with a 12–7 run and later extending it to 20–12 before taking the set 25–17.

Set three proved to be a battle, with both teams trading runs early on. ODU gained a narrow 20–18 edge before the Marauders forced extra points, but the Panthers pulled through with three straight to secure the set. In the fourth, Central State built a commanding 15–10 lead behind a seven-point run, but ODU answered immediately with an 8–1 rally to go up 18–16. The Panthers closed strong, finishing the set 25–21 to seal the match and notch their 18th win of the season.
