COLUMBUS, OH - The Ohio Dominican volleyball team returned to their home court this weekend inside Alumni Hall, welcoming the Ashland Eagles for a G-MAC matchup. The Panthers made quick work of the Eagles, earning a 3-0 sweep.
ODU dominated nearly every statistical category, with Ashland only edging them by one block. The Panthers outscored the Eagles 50–27.5 and recorded 18 more attacks, along with eight service aces compared to Ashland's two. Defensively, ODU tallied 47 digs to the Eagles' 39 and finished the match with an impressive .235 attacking average.
Outside hitter Ashley Aselage led the way for the Black and Gold with 10 kills, while Jenna Peters followed closely with eight kills, adding one ace, two blocks, one assist, and seven digs.
At the net, Grace Zinchuk asserted her presence with three blocks and eight kills, while Gabrielle Kirker led from the service line with four aces and 13 assists. Kirker also celebrated a major milestone, recording her 2,000th career assist as a Panther during the second set.
SET BREAKDOWN
The Panthers controlled all three sets with scores of 25–10, 25–16, and 25–14. In the opening frame, ODU found its rhythm early, fueled by strong serving runs to take a 14–6 lead before cruising to a 25–10 victory.
The second set saw more of the same as Aselage and Peters continued to pace the offense. A mid-set 6–1 run gave ODU a commanding 17–10 advantage, and the Panthers held firm to close out the set, 25–16.
In the third and final set, the Panthers "brought out the brooms," using a decisive 7–1 run late to seal the sweep with a 25–14 win.

The victory marked ODU's 17th overall win and eighth in G-MAC play this season. Ohio Dominican looks forward to a non-conference matchup next Tuesday against the Central State Marauders in Wilberforce, Ohio, at 6 p.m.
