OWENSBORO, Kentucky - On Saturday (Sep 21), the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team traveled to Owensboro to face off against the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers. Â
The Black and Gold Panthers came out on top with a win against the purple Panthers, 2-1 after 90 full minutes of play. Â
The first half finished scoreless from both teams. Kentucky Wesleyan fired off seven shots versus Ohio Dominican's three shots in the first half. Goalkeeper Jadelyn McNerney collected four saves versus KWC's two saves.Â
Early in the second half, scoring sparked from the Black and Gold Panthers with a goal from midfielder Jill Planeaux at the 47th minute. Shortly after, the purple Panthers shot off an equalizer goal from Haley Osborne at the 54th minute. Â
To secure ODU's first win of the season, sophomore defender Riley Arnold fired off a penalty kick goal at the 58th minute. Â
For the game, Kentucky Wesleyan shot a total of 15 times, nine of them being on goal. Ohio Dominican had a total of 13 shots, eight being on goal. Â
In the win, Jadelyn McNerney finished the game with eight total saves allowing only one goal. Â
