The Panthers and the Saints participated in a low-scoring battle with Ohio Dominican falling 6-0 in the lowest combined scoring game in program history.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • On the fourth combined drive, Thomas More got on the board with a 31-yard field goal by Luke Iden. The Saints led 3-0 with 5:25 left in the first quarter.
  • The next ODU drive looked promising after Webster went 56 yards on the first play. The Panthers got inside the red zone and could not convert a fourth down play from the 11-yard line.
  • To begin the second quarter, Thomas More attempted a 38-yard field goal and came up empty as Iden missed wide right.
  • Ohio Dominican attempted to answer on the next drive, getting back to the red zone once again before Gallehue was strip sacked and the Saints took over deep in their own territory.
  • After a three-and-out, Ohio Dominican got the ball back. Ivan Ermlich missed a 21-yard field goal as the Panthers drove down and attempted to tie the game. The game was 3-0 at halftime.
  • The Saints' second drive of the second half turned into a missed fourth down conversion deep in ODU's part of the field.
  • As the third quarter ended, Williams forced a fumble that was recovered by Hill, giving the ball back to ODU as the game shifted to the last quarter - still 3-0.
  • Iden capped the scoring with a 24-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
