COLUMBUS, Ohio - The ladies of Ohio Dominican soccer hosted an exciting matchup against Illinois-Springfield for their home opener today (Sept 11). The Panthers drew with the Prairie Stars 1-1, after 90 minutes of play. Â
In the first half, ODU defender Meghan Coakley connected a goal for the Panthers at the 31st minute with a corner kick assist by Jordyn Bena. The Black and Gold carried a 1-0 lead going into the half. Â
But with a strong attack in the second half, the Prairie Stars responded with a goal at the 64th minute by midfielder Kalli Drexler, assisted by Brooke Biffar. Illinois-Springfield recorded a total of 24 shots on the day, 12 being on goal. Â
Goalkeeper Jadelyn McNerney collected 11 saves on the day, allowing one goal. The Panthers shot a total of 12 times, six of them being on goal. Â
