Three Players Score Double Figures In Season Finale For ODU

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Ohio Dominican women's basketball team concluded their regular season at conference newcomer, Thomas More on Saturday afternoon. The Black and Gold fell to the Saints, 72-54.

  • Leading the way for the Black and Gold was Jenna Shackleford (Newark, Ohio) with 15 points. The freshman went 2-2 from deep and 5-7 from the floor. Shackleford added four rebounds, two assists, and a block.
  • Following her was Brynn Mullet (Berlin, Ohio) with 14 points. Mullet matched Shackleford with four rebounds and led the team with five assists.
  • Fellow guard, La'Sonja Hill (Cincinnati, Ohio) netted 13 points on the afternoon. Hill also grabbed four rebounds while adding an assist and a steal.
How It Happened
  • The Saints started strong and fast, scoring the first nine points of the game. TMU extended their lead to as many as 13 before a Mullet three cut it to 10 at the end of the period.
  • Thomas More remained strong in the second quarter, ending the period ahead 18 points, making it 36-18.
  • In the third quarter, Mullet and Shackleford tried to chip away at the Panthers deficit. Mullet scored eight points while Shackleford accounted for 11, putting them down 12 heading into the final quarter.
  • The Saints opened with the first six points before Hill answered with four of her own. The freshman added five more, but it wasn't enough as Thomas More pulled away, taking a 72-54 win.
2023-24 Season
The Black and Gold ended their season with a 7-21 overall record and a 4-16 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
