COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's basketball team wraps up their regular season this weekend on the road. The Panthers travel to Kentucky to take on Ky. Wesleyan on Thursday and conference newcomer, Thomas More, on Saturday.
About Ohio Dominican
The Black and Gold enter the week with a 7-19 overall record and a 4-14 record in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. ODU battled last week against Hillsdale College, but fell, 64-63, in an overtime thriller on senior night.
Leading the way was
Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) with 20 points against the Chargers. In her career, Stare has accumulated 1,724 total points, placing her in second on the all-time scoring list in Ohio Dominican women's basketball history. She is third in the conference in scoring, averaging 17.2 points a game.
Following her was
La'Sonja Hill (Cincinnati, Ohio) with 19 points. Hill averages 12.0 points a game this season. The freshman leads the conference in total steals with 59, and is second in steals per game, averaging 2.5.
In the game,
Brynn Mullet (Berlin, Ohio) netted 13 points and dished out four assists. Fellow guard,
Madelyn Fearon (Greenville, Ohio) led the team with five assists.
Nelia Guice (Westerville, Ohio) returned to action, grabbing a team high of five rebounds.
About Ky. Wesleyan
KWC improves to 19-5 overall and 14-4 in the G-MAC, placing them in second in the standings. They have secured a berth to the tournament and will host in the quarterfinals.
Four players average double figure points for the Panthers. Leading the way is Emmy Ralph with 11.8 points. She is second on the team in steals (1.7). Following her is Jordyn Barga with 11.7 points, along with a team high of 7.4 rebounds. Forward, Corina Conley, averages 11.1 points, with Shaylee McDonald averaging 10.7 points.
As a team, Ky. Wesleyan is shooting 44.7 percent from the field, 33.9 percent from behind the arc, and 74.0 percent from the free throw line. The Purple and Grey are 9-3 against the Black and Gold, dating back to their first meeting during the 2017-18 season. KWC has won the last six matchups against ODU, including an 81-49 win in Columbus at the beginning of the month.

The Saints enter the week with a 15-10 overall record and post an 11-7 mark in the G-MAC, placing them tied for fifth in the standings with Hillsdale and Malone. Thomas More will host Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday before welcoming the Panthers on Saturday.
Leading the way for TMU is Alex Smith with 12.4 points a game. Smith averages 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists a game. Following her is Kelly Brenner with 9.1 points a game. Guard, Rachel Martin, dishes out 2.8 assists a game and snags 2.0 steals a game.
As a squad, they are shooting 41.4 percent from the floor, 34.5 percent from behind the three point line, and 74.2 percent from the charity stripe. Within the all-time series, the two are even at 2-2. Ohio Dominican won the first two meetings during the 1991-92 season and the 1992-93 season. Thomas More followed with wins in the 1993-94 season and the 1998-99 season. The two have not met in the Division II era.
