Panthers Honor Nate Webb for Home Finale

COLUMBUS, Ohio - As a part of the home finale for the Ohio Dominican Panthers men's basketball team, the Panthers honored their lone senior before a Great Midwest contest against the Hillsdale Chargers on Thursday (Feb. 22) night.

Nate Webb (Lafayette, Indiana) was honored pregame for his three years in a Panthers uniform as the Panthers were defeated 73-49 by the Chargers. 

BOX SCORE NOTES
  • Luke Ruth (Grove City, Ohio) scored 15 points as the Panther leader in points for the ninth time this season and his 19th game in double figures. He made six field goals with three free throws to go with his three rebounds, six assists and one block. 
    • Ruth has 15 games this season with at least three assists and five games with six or more assists. 
  • Parker Swartz (Grand Rapids, Michigan) had four three pointers - a career-high as he scored 14 points overall. He grabbed six rebounds in his 32 minutes of play.
  • Nate Webb (Lafayette, Indiana) reached double-figures for the sixth time this season as he had ten points and seven rebounds - a team-high on the boards. He made two three pointers on his Senior Night with two steals. 
  • Lachlan MacDonald (Dublin, Ohio) converted three of his four field goal attempts for six points with three boards, four assists and two steals. 
  • Ohio Dominican shot 35.1% from the floor in the game, going 20-of-57 on the floor.
  • The Panthers forced Hillsdale into 14 turnovers leading to 11 points. 
  • Despite the Chargers shooting 61% from the floor, the Panthers held Hillsdale to three made three pointers - tied for a season-low and 23.1% from deep. 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Hillsdale scored the first six points before a 10-2 Panthers run closed the gap and actually put ODU up 10-8 with six minutes surpassed in the first half.
    • Swartz hit two threes in the run, the fourth time he's opened the scoring for ODU with a three. 
  • A 14-0 Chargers spurt over the next five minutes pushed the Hillsdale lead to 22-10 with 9:35 left before the intermission. 
  • The Panthers got the lead to eight three times in the remainder of the first half but Hillsdale expanded the lead to as many as 17 with a 39-22 lead at halftime. 
  • Ohio Dominican came out of the locker room with scoring 12 of the next 15 points as they rushed back to get the lead to under ten points at 42-34 with 16:18 to go. 
    • Once again, Swartz made a pair of triples during the run to get the Panthers back into the contest. 
  • The visitors regained the momentum and used a 9-1 run to push the lead back to 16 at the 12 minute mark. 
  • Hillsdale finished the game with a 73-49 final score. 
UP NEXT
  • Ohio Dominican will travel to Midland, Michigan on Monday (Feb. 26) for a 6:00 PM contest with the Northwood Timberwolves.
