MIDLAND, Mich. - The Ohio Dominican Panthers (3-6, 2-5) football team traveled to the state of Michigan for a Great Midwest contest with the Northwood Timberwolves (5-4, 3-4) on Saturday (Nov. 2) afternoon.
Northwood snapped a six-game slide at the hands of the Panthers, defeating ODU 37-10 at Hantz Stadium.
BOX SCORE NOTES
- Drew Gallehue finished with 14 completions on 26 attempts, throwing for 147 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.
- Natwan Webster rushed the ball eight times for 29 yards.
- Dimitri Mitsopoulos totaled 221 all-purpose yards in the game. He caught five passes for 83 yards while making five kickoff returns (115 yards) and two punt returns (23 yards).
- Mitsopoulos jumped into seventh for a single season in all-purpose yards (1,405). With 602 kick return yards, he ranks third for a single season.
- Clay Caudill had three catches for 44 yards.
- Michael Powers and Caleb Taylor tied for the team lead with nine tackles.
- Powers is now third in all-time tackles (297), passing Nate Hillerich, Ross Thompson and Justin Bell today.
- Rico Franklin-Davis made seven tackles on the day.
- AJ Young converted from 34-yards in the second quarter on his only field goal attempt.
- Qwyn Williams, Bryce Washington and Dylan Fisher combined for three sacks.
- Fisher's sack was a strip sack, forcing his first career fumble and recovering his second.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northwood started the scoring with a 36-yard touchdown pass on their first drive from Ethan Hamby to Brandon Teal as the Timbies led 7-0 with 10:33 left in the first quarter.
- The teams exchanged defensive stops on defense throughout the remainder of the first quarter before ODU struck at the beginning of the second quarter.
- Fisher put Northwood's first second quarter drive on a screeching halt with his strip sack, giving ODU good field position. Eight plays later, Young converted his 34-yard field goal as they cut into the Northwood lead 7-3 with 7:59 left before halftime.
- The Timberwolves scored 17 points in the final 6:14 of the second quarter, taking advantage of two ODU turnovers. Hamby connected with Teal for touchdown passes of 56 and 40 yards, respectively while Max Gonos kicked a 21-yard field goal.
- Northwood led 24-3 at the halftime break.
- Devin Brown added NU's third quarter touchdown on a three-yard run, pushing the lead to 31-3 five minutes into the second half.
- After Gonos missed a 45-yard field goal towards the end of the third quarter, Ohio Dominican put together a scoring drive. After six plays and 59 yards, Gallehue found Mitsopoulos from four yards away. Ohio Dominican made it 31-10 with 14:37 to go in the game.
- Gonos added field goals of 47 and 42 yards in the fourth quarter to complete the scoring at 37-10.

- Ohio Dominican will play in the road finale at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium next Saturday (Nov. 9) against Lake Erie. Kickoff from Painesville is set for 1:00 PM.
