Panthers Snatch Thrilling Win Against Walsh

COLUMBUS, Ohio - In an exciting G-MAC matchup, Ohio Dominican University defeated Walsh University 4-3 in a thrilling game that showcased intense back-and-forth action. 

The scoring kicked off early when Walsh's Gabe Anderson found the back of the net just two minutes in. Ohio Dominican quickly responded, with junior Brad Leonard equalizing in the 24th minute, assisted by Evan French. 

The Panthers took the lead in the 32nd minute when sophomore Aiden Crowley scored his first goal of the season, making it 2-1 as the first half ended with both teams tied at six shots each. 

The second half saw Walsh regain momentum, with Gabriel Altawil equalizing in the 60th minute. Just eight minutes later, Callum Lee scored to give Walsh a 3-2 lead, assisted by Evan Napier. 

However, Ohio Dominican wasn't done yet. Freshman Mamadou Sow netted a stunning equalizer in the 80th minute, marking his eighth goal of the season and securing his position as the leading goal-scorer in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

The decisive moment came in the 86th minute when Brad Leonard scored again with an assist by Ean Encarnacion, heading the ball into the net for his second goal of the night and sealing the win for Ohio Dominican at 4-3. 

Both teams displayed tenacity throughout the match, totaling 17 fouls and earning five yellow cards. Walsh took 16 shots, with seven on goal, while Ohio Dominican mirrored that with 16 shots but only six on target.  

Goalkeeper Gannon Graf made four saves for Ohio Dominican, allowing three goals.  

This win certainly boosts Ohio Dominican's confidence as they approach the final stretch of their season. They will wrap things up at Malone on Saturday, November 2, before hosting their senior night on November 6 against the Lake Erie Storm.
