COLUMBUS, Ohio -Â In a hard-fought match, the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team faced off against the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers, ultimately falling 2-0.
The scoring opened in the 28th minute with a goal from Haley Osborne, despite Ohio Dominican outshooting KWC six to one in the first half.
The second half was a battle, with both teams exchanging possession.
However, the tide turned in the 75th minute when senior Ella Tyler received a red card, granting Kentucky Wesleyan a penalty. Claudia Melgar stepped up and found the back of the net, extending KWC's lead to 2-0.
The game was physical, with a total of 21 fouls committed by both teams.
Kentucky Wesleyan recorded seven shots, with five on target, while Ohio Dominican managed 12 shots, five of which were on goal. KWC's defense held strong, earning five saves to maintain the clean sheet.
