MIDLAND, Mich. – On Saturday afternoon, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team played their second road match of the week at Northwood University. The Timberwolves picked up a win on their home field, beating the Panthers 2-0.
The Black and Gold fired off the first shot in the 4
th minute with
Mubelele Mhango (Blantyre, Malawi) missing to the left. In Northwood's first shot in the 8
th minute, the Timberwolves scored, making it 1-0 early. In the 25
th minute,
Kevin Montes (Miami, Fla.) snagged his first save of the afternoon.
In the opening half, the Panthers recorded eight total shots, with Montes grabbing two saves, leaving the match at 1-0 at the intermission.
In the 53
rd minute, Montes recorded another saving, bring his total to three. In the 59
th minute,
Evan French (Canal Winchester, Ohio) let off his third shot of the half, giving the NU keeper a save. The Timbies extended their lead to 2-0 in the 75
th minute. In a last-ditch effort,
Jack Jenkins (Canal Winchester, Ohio) took consecutive shots, but missed the mark, leaving ODU behind 2-0.
