OWENSBORO, Ky. – On Friday evening, the Ohio Dominican volleyball team completed their southern swing with a Panther battled at Ky. Wesleyan. ODU came out strong, but KWC rallied from behind to win the match, 3-2.

Box Score Notes
- Leading the way for the Black and Gold was Jenna Peters (Vermilion, Ohio) and Lauren Lucas (Grove City, Ohio) with nine kills. Both added a block with Lucas snagging a service ace.
- Senior Kelsey Shoup (Dalton, Ohio) recorded 12 digs in the match. She also added three assists and a service ace. Freshman Lauren Dinunzi (Louisville, Ky.) netted eight digs and led the way with three service aces.
- Sophomore Gabrielle Kirker (Tallmadge, Ohio) collected 11 assists with fellow sophomore Saige Avery (Yorkville, Ill.) grabbing nine. Kirker tallied nine digs with Avery adding eight.
- At the net, Ashley Aselage (Tipp City, Ohio) notched four blocks whi9le Grace Zinchuk (Schaumburg, Ill.) having three. Aselage added eight kills and Zinchuk had five.

How It Happened
- The Black and Gold jumped out to an early 6-0 start in the opening set. The Panthers continued to push and extended their lead to 13-4 with kills from Peters and Christiansen.
- ODU went ahead as many as 12 before KWC went on a four-point run to make it 20-11. Ohio Dominican won five of the last seven points to win the first set 25-13, ending it on a service ace from Dinunzi.
- The Panthers began the second set strong with a 5-2 lead. ODU remained strong on the offensive end, going up eight, making it 15-7.
- The Purple Panthers tried to catch the Black and Yellow, coming within four, but Ohio Dominican finished the set on a three-point run with three consecutive kills, winning it 25-18, to go up 2-0 in sets.
- The Purple and White turned up the heat in the third set and ran out to an 8-2 run. ODU tied it up at 10-all with a service ace from Shoup.
- KWC rallied to regain the lead and eventually took the third set 25-21, making it 2-1 in sets.
- In the fourth set, the two went point-for-point in the beginning before KWC went on a three-point swing to make it 13-9. Ky. Wesleyan continued to push, going up as many as 10 to eventually take the set 25-13, forcing a fifth set.
- In the final set, the Purple Panthers pulled ahead 6-2 before ODU snagged a kill and a service ace to make it 6-4. Ky. Wesleyan went ahead 13-7.
- The Panthers then went on a 5-0 run to bring it within 1, making it 13-12. KWC won the last two points to win the set 15-12 and the match, 3-2.
