MIDLAND, Mich. – On Saturday afternoon, the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team returned to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference quarterfinals for the first time since the 2021 season. The #8 Panthers faced off against the #1 Timberwolves of Northwood, falling 1-0 in Michigan.
ODU opened the half with a shot in the 4
th minute from
Riley Arnold (Waynesville, Ohio). They followed up with two more shots compared to Northwood's one. The Timberwolves took a 1-0 lead in the 22
nd minute. The Black and Gold tried to equalize it before the break, firing off three more shots, but couldn't connect with the back of the net.
In the second half,
Ryanne Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) let off the first shot for the Black and Gold, missing high and to the right. In the 66
th minute, senior
Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) snagged her first save of the day. The Panthers outshot the Timberwolves, 5-4 in the second half and 12-6 in the game but couldn't find the back of the net. ODU fell to NU, 1-0, after 90 minutes of play.
Ohio Dominican ended their season with a 5-8-6 record and a 4-6-4 mark in the G-MAC.
