#17/22 Tiffin Spoils Panthers Senior Day Contest

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers (4-6, 3-5 G-MAC) hosted the #17/22 Tiffin Dragons (10-0, 8-0 G-MAC) on Senior Day for the home finale on Saturday (Nov. 4) afternoon. 

Tiffin erased an early Ohio Dominican lead with a first half flurry, taking the 44-10 win at Panther Stadium. 

BOX SCORE NOTES

  • Drew Gallehue (Edon, Ohio) accounted for 156 passing yards on 13-of-27 passing. Gallehue added one passing touchdown in the fourth quarter. 
  • Isaac Allegretto (Lima, Ohio) saw his first action at quarterback with three completions on four attempts for 21 yards. 
  • Travis Whittaker (Gahanna, Ohio) ran for 86 yards on the ground on ten carries. He added three catches for 26 yards as well. 
  • Ty Wiley (Pickerington, Ohio) earned his third 100-yard game of the season (fifth of career) as he caught seven passes for 115 yards. 
    • Wiley tallied 137 yards of all-purpose yards with 22 yards on kick returns. 
  • Jayden Cornell (Kenton, Ohio) made three catches for 27 yards, the second highest on the team. 
  • AJ Young (Lexington, Ohio) surpassed his career-high with a 38-yard field goal in the first quarter. Young added an extra point on a fourth quarter score. 
  • Brady Blattner (Cumberland, Ohio)Daishaun Hill (Rocky River, Ohio) and Jayden Hill (Gahanna, Ohio) each made nine tackles in the game as the game's highest tacklers. 
    • Blattner accounted for 1.5 tackles for loss while D. Hill had half of a TFL. 
  • Eddie Miller-Garrett (Newark, New Jersey) added 2.5 tackles for loss on his six tackle afternoon.   
  • Ohio Dominican finished with 249 yards of total offense, 72 yards rushing and 177 yards passing. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After a Tiffin punt on the first drive, Ohio Dominican answered with a scoring drive to draw first blood. The Panthers got a 33-yard field goal from Young to make it 3-0 ODU with 11:52 left in the first quarter. 
  • Tiffin gained a 14-3 lead in the first quarter with an interception return and a short touchdown run following a Panthers fumble. 
  • Four scoring plays in the second quarter by the Dragons made it 41-3 at the half. 
  • A short field goal in the third quarter added to Tiffin's lead before the Panthers scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Tiffin gave the Panthers a short field on a botched punt. Gallehue connected with Spencer Klopfenstein (Troy, Ohio) on a six-yard touchdown pass, closing the scoring at 44-10. 

UP NEXT

  • Ohio Dominican will travel to the state of Michigan for the season finale next Saturday (Nov. 11). The Panthers will take on the Hillsdale Chargers at 1:00 PM from Frank "Muddy Waters" Stadium.
