Volleyball Welcomes TNU And KWC For Senior Celebration

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After seven games on the road, the Ohio Dominican volleyball team returns to Sunbury road for a pair of home matches. The Panthers welcome the Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene on Friday and the Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday for their senior night.

About Ohio Dominican
The Black and Gold are 10-13 overall and 6-8 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, sitting in fourth in the South Division. The Panthers most recently fell to the Dragons, 3-1, on Tuesday evening.

Senior Kelsey Shoup (Dalton, Ohio) collected 25 digs against the Dragons, marking her 12th 20+ dig game this season. The libero has recorded double-digit digs in every match, bringing her season total to 431, and her career total to 1,551 digs.

Both sophomore setters are closing in on 1,000 career assists. Gabrielle Kirker (Tallmadge, Ohio) added 18 assists the other day to bring her season total to 426, and her career total to 994. Kirker averages 4.95 assists per set. Saige Avery (Yorkville, Ill.) averages 4.76 assists per set. Avery notched 19 assists at Tiffin, bringing her season total to 462 assists and her career total to 913.

Ashley Aselage (Tipp City, Ohio) led the way last night for the Panthers with 13 kills. The sophomore averages 2.56 kills per set. Ahead of her is Lauren Lucas (Grove City, Ohio) averaging 2.88 kills per set and Jenna Peters (Vermilion, Ohio) averaging 2.62 kills per set. All three hitters have netted over 200 kills this fall.

About Trevecca Nazarene
The Trojans are 12-15 overall and 8-7 in the G-MAC, good enough for third place in the South Division. TNU hits the road for three games after dropping back-to-back home contests to Northwood, 3-1, and Hillsdale, 3-0, last weekend.

Junior Emma Titus averages 3.78 kills per set and 2.59 digs per set. Libero, Katie Crutchfield, leads the team with 373 total digs, an average of 3.69 digs per set. Crutchfield had tallied 28 service aces with Titus adding 22 service aces. Senior setter, Emilee McDonald, has recorded 684 assists in her final season. She averages 6.91 assists per set.

In the first meeting with the Trojans this fall, the Panthers battled back to defeat them 3-2 in Nashville. The two are even at 6 wins each in the Division II Era. Trevecca travels to Cedarville on Thursday before heading to Alumni Hall on Friday.

About Ky. Wesleyan
The Panthers are 6-20 overall and 4-11 in the conference, placing them in sixth in the South Division standings. KWC added two home losses last weekend with 3-0 sweeps to Hillsdale and Northwood.

Leading the way for the Purple and White is Nicole Hughes with 258 total kills. The senior averages 2.69 kills per set. Setter, Julia Kupper, averages 8.59 assists per set. Kupper has a total of 807 assists on the year. Embry Burgess tallies 2.93 digs per set.

Back on September 15, KWC defeated ODU, 3-2, breaking up a five-game winning streak for the Black and Gold. The win evened the all-time record to 6-6. On Friday evening, Ky. Wesleyan will head to Ashland before meeting Ohio Dominican on Saturday.

Game Times
First serve is set for 6:00 PM on Friday against Trevecca. On Saturday, Ohio Dominican will honor their two seniors, Kelsey Shoup and Alexis Keipert, before taking on Ky. Wesleyan at 6:00 PM.
