Panthers Start Three Game Road Stretch At Lake Erie And Walsh

COLUMBUS, Ohio – To finish off the regular season, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team will hit the road for the straight contests. The Black and Gold will travel to Lake Erie College on Tuesday before taking on the Cavaliers of Walsh on Thursday.

The Panthers move to 2-7-4 overall and 2-5-4 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference after drawing with Ky. Wesleyan on senior night, 3-3. ODU sits at 11th in the G-MAC standings, three points behind Trevecca Nazarene.

In Thursdays match, Brad Leonard (Westerville, Ohio) netted two goals, marking his third of the season and of his career. Joining him was freshman Jace Houck (Tipp City, Ohio) with his first career goal. The Panthers now have 10 different goal scorers and four with multiple goals.

Against KWC, three different players snagged assists. Evan Reppeto (South Lebanon, Ohio) added his first assist of the fall as Mubelele Mhango (Blantyre, Malawi) and Jacob Gruber (Westerville, Ohio) notched their third assists on the season.

In goal, senior Cory Pulles (Pickerington, Ohio) snagged three saves to bring his season total to 49, tied for fourth in the conference. Pulles averages 4.90 saves per game, ranking second in the standings.

About Lake Erie
The Storm post an overall record of 8-5-2 with a 6-3-2 mark in the G-MAC, good enough for second place. LEC is coming off a 1-1 week after defeating Wisconsin-Parkside, 2-0, on Tuesday but fell at Tiffin, 1-0.

In their 2-0 road win, Aaron Garrote netted his third goals and Mathi Ott grabbed his fourth goal of the reason. Ott also added his third assist in that game. Leading the way for Lake Erie is Tom Akinola with six goals and two assists for 14 points. Maximilian Lintschinger joins Ott with four goals and three assists on the season.

Throughout the season, four different players have seen time between the posts with Gianni Cobelo-Obregon and Cooper Cook appearing in seven games each. Cook leads with 20 saves and a 0.58 GAA with Cobelo-Obregon accounting for 11 saves and posting a 0.99 GAA.

Dating back to 2010, the Panthers are 16-9-2 against the Storm. Last season, in the first meeting, Jack Jenkins (Canal Winchester, Ohio) and Gruber scored to secure a 3-2 win. Later that season, the two drew, 1-1.

About Walsh
The Cavaliers have a 6-5-3 record with a 4-5-2 mark in conference play. Walsh is currently tied for eighth in the standings with Northwood after coming off a 1-0-1 week. WU defeated Trevecca at home, 2-1, and drew with Ashland on their senior night, 0-0.

Freshman Bobby Moore scored both goals on Thursday, bringing his season total to five, matching forward Lewis Matton. Both players have an assist. Following them is Dominic O'Connor with three goals. Eight other players have netted goals for the Cavs.

Goalkeeper Charlie Walker was started all 14 contests for the Maroon and Gold this fall. Walker has 52 saves on the season, the third most in the G-MAC, and a 1.21 GAA. He has recorded three shutouts and only allowed 17 goals on the season.

Since 2011, ODU is 13-6-2 against WU. In the first meeting last season, the Panthers shutout the undefeated #11 Cavaliers, 5-0, with Mohamed Sheik (Columbus, Ohio) accounting for three goals, completing the hat trick.

Game Times
On Tuesday, action begins at 1:00 PM from Jack Britt Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM on Thursday, following the women's game at Larry Staudt Field.
