COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers football team returns home to 1216 Sunbury Road for an October matchup with the Northwood Timberwolves on Saturday (Oct. 21) afternoon. The Panthers and the Timberwolves will face off as both teams are in the middle of the G-MAC standings at 2-3. Kickoff for the Breast Cancer Awareness game is set for 1:00 PM at Panther Stadium.
Ohio Dominican is now 3-4 overall after their second straight win last week on the road.
OPENING KICKOFF
- The Panthers rallied for the second straight week, a 12-10 win over Walsh on the road last week.
- Jake Byrd (Fort Wayne, Indiana) finished the game with 185 yards passing with two passing touchdowns.
- Travis Whittaker (Gahanna, Ohio) carried the ball 26 times (a career-high) for 76 yards.
- Whittaker is currently sixth all-time with 1,786 career rushing yards. He passed Nathan Clark for 6th place and is 35 yards behind Frederick Pitts V for fifth all-time.
- On top of being sixth in ODU history, he is also seventh in the G-MAC all-time rushing list behind Pitts V.
- Ty Wiley (Pickerington, Ohio) scored the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter, a 29-yard pass from Byrd. Wiley had four catches for 54 yards.
- He now has nine career TD catches and could surpass 1,000 receiving yards soon (925).
- Zach Bartrum (Meigs County, Ohio) opened the scoring with a nine-yard catch for a TD in the third quarter. He finished with three catches for 51 yards.
- Qwyn Williams (Gahanna, Ohio) led the Panthers with eight tackles, 2.0 TFL and 1.5 sacks.
- DeShannon Butler (Columbus, Ohio) snagged ODU's 6th pick of the season, leading to the go-ahead score in the 4th quarter.
- Walsh was held to 29 yards rushing as they were the 11st lowest output by an opposing offense.
- ODU has held teams under 100 yards rushing 14 times since the end of 2021 and teams under 50 yards four times this season.
- ODU posted a time of possession of 33:06, just below the season-high.
